Let's not grow weary with our prayers.
I opened my Bible and it happened to fall on Psalm 146. As I read, I couldn’t help but see how it related to the ongoing war. Please join me and pray this Psalm over the those affected by the war in the Ukraine and Russia.

Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. | Lord, I give thanks for you and all your works. For whatever time I have left on this earth, I will give you praise. |
3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. | Lord, let us not blindly trust in any leader: Putin, Zelensky, NATO, nor any other alliance. These leaders cannot in the end save themselves nor anyone else. They too will return to dust and their plans will dissolve. Help us understand that such complete trust is misplaced. Instead, we pray for these leaders. That you might grant them wisdom. That you may turn their hearts toward you and your peace. |
5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob whose hope is in their God. | Oh that we all — especially all those who are in places of danger and despair, civilians, disillusioned soldiers, aide workers, all who are surrounded by war — hope and trust in you, O God. Bless us as we do. |
6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, | For you, O God, who created everything on the earth, are powerful, and though we are unfaithful and our actions cause pain in this world, You remain faithful to your creation. You are working. Lord, you will find a way to feed those who are hungry, to find safe corridors for relief to get through. You will see justice done. You are in the business of performing miracles. Lord, we pray for all sorts of miracles right now. For missiles to miss and for targeted buildings to be empty. Oh Lord, protect from weapons that seek to destroy. And Lord, will you lift up all who look to you. Draw fearful and broken hearts into your peace. |
the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. | Lord, you love all, but you are close to those who seek you and receive your grace. Protect the foreigner trapped in a warring country and the refugee displaced. Give endurance and sustain those who have lost parents, children, and spouses. Lord frustrate any evil on all sides, from within and without. Forgive our world of it’s wickedness. Long after this war is over, you, Oh Lord will reign forever. |
